Write for us

We welcome pitches and contributions that help readers notice how cinema and coastal places meet. Send proposals through the Contact page; a clear idea matters more than a grand claim.

What fits

Consider a focused essay, an accessible piece of film history, a comparison of coastal settings on screen, or a close look at how a particular film uses its shore. We welcome different viewpoints and writing that treats coastal places as more than a scenic shortcut.

Make the pitch specific

Tell us the central question, the films or material you would discuss, and what a reader might notice or understand by the end. Explain your approach and mention any relevant sources or permissions. Keep claims proportionate: a thoughtful reading is stronger when it does not pretend to speak for every film or viewer.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option for a pitch. Please send a proposal rather than an unsolicited full manuscript. Do not include private or confidential material; we cannot promise acceptance or a particular response time.

Our point of view

The coast is never just a backdrop

A shoreline can set a mood, shape a story or quietly redirect what a character can do. We look for those choices without pretending every wave carries a hidden meaning.
